A REPORT ON THE 2008 RINGING ROADSHOW
The Ringing Roadshow is an event that brings industry professionals, ringers, and other bell enthusiasts together for displays, seminars, workshops, and the opprtunity to peruse and buy bells and bell-related items from the largest selection of such items you are likely to find in one place anywhere in the world. This year it was held at Warwickshire's Stoneleigh Park on the 5th-6th September.
As usual, Whitechapel Bell Foundry had a large exhibit at the Roadshow, and this time as well as the foundry shop with a comprehensive stock of bells and bell-related merchandise, we decided to take the foundry offices along with us!
WBF had a successful and very busy weekend, so much so that there was not time to take many photographs during opening hours, with the result that most of those included in this report were taken during initial set up before the public were admitted to the event.
As is always the case, these things involve a lot of pre-planning, a lot of work setting up, and the efforts of many people to make them run successfully on the day. Our staff on this occasion were Neil Thomas, Peter Trick, Nigel Taylor, Ben Kipling, Steve McEwan, Carolyn Baker, Amanda Davis, Michael Turner, and Whitechapel directors, Alan & Kathryn Hughes and their daughters Jennifer & Lizzie. Our thanks and appreciation to one and all.
We would also like to express our thanks to our insurance broker Towergate Risk Solutions for their specialist advice to Whitechapel Bell Foundry throughout the year and in respect of events such as this.
