We don't often get to install a new frame before the tower has been built, but when we do it allows for interesting pictures like the one above, with the cathedral in the background. (Neil is the one in red with his back to the camera.) Amazingly, Neil and the team of local contractors were able to get the entire installation in and fitted out in a mere two days, which must be something of a record for a ring of this size.

As shown in the photo below, the bells were rung in the open air before the tower was built up around them, a rare and special event.

Whitechapel Bell Foundry has been sending bells to America since colonial times, and in recent years we have been supplying more rings of bells, complete with frames and fittings, than ever before. This, together with the surprising number of full size replicas of The Liberty Bell we've been called upon to cast of late, means that the US remains an important and vibrant part of our market.
