Whitechapel Handbell Music Shop
The Music Room

Opened in October 1995, the Music Room at the Whitechapel Bell Foundry, which houses the only permanent collection of music published for handbells in the country, was relocated to the ground floor as part of the shop extension of October 2004. Set out for you to browse at your leisure and to help you to find suitable arrangements for your team, the music is arranged in browsing boxes by octave and alphabetically by title within the octave collections. The use of a piano to try out pieces is available on request.

Publications by Mayola Music, Aardvark Music and HRGB from England are displayed alongside the complete catalogues of Jeffers Handbell Supply, Ring Out Press, Lorenz Publishing, American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, Hope Publishing and others from overseas.

The Music Room offers a service of obtaining any piece of music from the many publishing houses in the USA and more music is being added to the browsing boxes all the time. The copies of music in the browsing area are for display only. All music is available to order and delivered by post to your door. Other items from the Jeffers Catalogue may be purchased via the Music Room priced in Sterling. A limited selection of titles from Mayola Music is held in stock.

Also displayed in the Music Room is a range of mallets suitable for playing handbells, together with handbells to try them on. Specialist gloves, music stands and other handbell accessories are also available. Musical cup bells and handchimes are also on display. Friendly and helpful information on all these items is always available from the Whitechapel staff.

Open from 9.00am to 4.15pm Mondays to Fridays, the Music Room is just a three-minute walk from either Aldgate East or Whitechapel Underground Station. Travel details are given on the map page.
