WHITECHAPEL BELL FOUNDRY

SOME NOTABLE WHITECHAPEL
TOWER BELL INSTALLATIONS

While we won't be putting pictures up of every installation we do, we have decided to do photo features on a number of installations of relatively recent vintage that we think readers of this site might find of particular interest. Further installations will be added in future.

QUEBEC - HOLY TRINITY

Cast here at Whitechapel in 1830 by Thomas Mears II, this ring of eight are the oldest change-ringing peal in Canada. They were tuned and rehung with new fittings in a new bellframe in March 2008.

LANGTON BY SPILSBY, LINCOLNSHIRE

A peal of six bells cast at this foundry in 1825 by Thomas Mears II, these were tuned and rehung with new fittings in the existing bellframe - which was also strengthened - in May 2008.
